Commencer vos moteurs. Vrrrm!

I've never really been much of auto racing fan, but why pass up an opportunity to see the pinnacle of auto racing - Formula 1 at the Monaco Grand Prix. Thankfully the time difference was not a challenge with the miracles of technology, Tivo.

It's definately a sporting event with whole lotta glitz and glamour. The lavish buildings and casinos, the 200 ft yachts, and the extremely wealthy that own all of this. The commentators constantly referred to it as a place of fantasy if there ever was one on earth. Of course, let's not forget about the fast cars. I thought I'd take some interest since I maybe passing through the area next month and also watching the race may jog my memory of having driven the track before on video games.

I'd have to say after watching 78 laps, the most interesting part was the carts passing each other, then the crashes. Too bad this race is the narrowest and slowest track on Formula 1 circuit so passing and crashing due to excessive speeding was limited. Almost everyone has also seen the famous tunnel along the harbor. There's no other sound like hearing a formula 1 car ripping through the tunnel at 18,000RPM's.

Aye maan!

Since my 2 roommates moved in Feb it's been rare that all three of us are home at the same time, especially with Joe's work travel. He came back Friday night after being on the road for 5 weeks. I came home finding the two of them having a lively conversation. Both of them grew up in Jamaica and went to college here in the states so they have some common times and plenty to chat about. They had been talking for a little while before I came home, and I noticed something was different. I was catching about every other word they were saying. I couldn't keep a straight face without laughing. The Jamaican in them had come to full bloom in their entheusism.

I AM TIGER WOODS

I have a friend who seems to have developed a habit of calling me at work about once a week. Today she seemed awefully excited. "Hey, do you remember the emails I've been forwarding you for www.oriented.com?" Oriented.com is a website used as a networking tool for Orientals around the world.
"I posted an advertisement on the website for the Koi fish show", she said. "Someone posted a comment in the forum and their email was logged as Tiger Woods. I sent a reply back and asked if he was the real Tiger Woods. I got a reply!"
Okay. I'm thinking there's a chance maybe Tiger Woods is a Koi collector.
"I asked if he was the real Tiger Woods and how was married life. He said it's been great being married to Elin and it has helped my game. I just won another green jacket."
And so on and so on...more and more public information that led me to think the emails are from a poser. I gave her the look of doubt over the phone.

Well, you never know about the connections in California. I did happen to meet the dentist of some of Tiger's relatives last year. I also found out last week that a marketing contractor at my company who use to sit across the hall from me is Mark Cuban's cousin.
